Suppose you have your contacts information saved into a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet and you want it to open using Outlook or any other similar program, sadly, it won’t open readily. However, this small issue can be overcame by simply importing the information. Follow the easy steps below to import your contacts.
Step 1: Open Outlook 2013, then click File > Open > Import.
Step 2: Under ‘Choose an action to perform’ you will need to choose ‘Import from another program or file’ and then click next when you are done to continue.
Step 3: A popup window will appear, you will need to select ‘Microsoft Excel 97 – 2003′ from under the ‘Select file type to import’ and click the ‘Next’ button.
Step 4: Click on the ‘Browse’ button and locate the file you want to import the information from.
Step 5: Search the file, select it and then press ‘OK’
Step 6: It will then take you to a new window, and you’ll see three different options, choose the one you want and click ‘Next’.
Step 7: Select the folder you want to save the file into and click the ‘Next’ button.
Step 8: When the next window appears, click the ‘Finish’ button to complete the importing process.
That’s it, you’re done. In case you don’t want the default settings of Outlook, you can select the ‘Map Custom Fields’ and customise your own settings, and if you want to change the destination folder, you can click on ‘Change Destination’ button in order to select the new destination path.
