Windows Store is a Universal Windows Platform application (aka UWP) that has been built-in Windows 10 and 11. We can install many useful apps from it, e.g., Windows File Recovery. But sometimes, Windows Store doesn't work properly. When we open it, we will see a message "Page could not be loaded. Please try again later." And, an error code 0x80131500 is displayed at the bottom. In this article, I will show you 4 ways to fix the Windows Store error code 0x80131500.
Step 1. Press Win+r to open the Run window, then type inetcpl.cpl and click OK to open the Internet Properties.
Step 2. Switch to the Connection tab, find and click the LAN settings button. In the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings, please tick Automatically detect settings. Then click OK to save changes.
Step 3. Switch to the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Security section. Please tick all 4 TLS options (Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1, Use TLS 1.2, and Use TLS 1.3), then click OK to save changes.
This method has solved the problem of Windows store error code 0x80131500 on many users' computers. It is rated by many users as the most effective solution to fix Windows Store error code 0x80131500.
If method one doesn't fix Windows Store error code 0x80131500, it means that the problem isn't caused by your Internet connection settings. Please try the following steps to repair and reset the Windows Store.
Step 1. Press Win+i to open Windows Settings.
Step 2. Select Apps > Apps & features.
Step 3. Find Microsoft Store and click Advanced options.
Tip: You can type the keyword store in the search box to quickly find Windows Store.
Step 4. Find Repair button in Reset section and click it.
Important: Unfortunately, Windows 10 doesn't offer such an option to repair the Windows Store. If you're running Windows 10, please go to the next step to reset the Windows Store.
Step 5. If Repair fails to fix the error code 0x80131500 issue, click Reset under the Repair button. You will then receive a prompt message that the reset will permanently delete the app's data. Click Reset to begin.
The reset process is very fast. Please run Windows Store to check if it works well when the reset is complete.
If you're using Windows 10 and don't want your app's data to be deleted due to resetting the Windows Store, please try the following steps to clean the Windows Store cache. It might fix the problem with the Windows Store where the error code is 0x80131500.
Step 1. Press Win+r to open the Run window.
Step 2. Type wsreset.exe and click OK.
After clicking the OK button, you will see the Command Prompt window with the cursor blinking. This means that the command is clearing the Windows Store cache. Please wait for a while, after the cleanup is complete, the Windows Store will run automatically.
If the above 3 methods do not fix Windows Store error code 0x80131500, please try to reinstall Windows Store.
Please be careful, the Uninstallation will permanently delete the app's data on this device including your preference and sign-in details.
Step 1. Press Win+x to open the Power User Menu, and click Windows Powershell (Admin). If you don’t see it on the Power User Menu, you can press Win+s to open the search box and type powershell, then click Run as administrator.
Step 2. Type the following command to uninstall Windows Store.
Get-AppxPackage *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage
Step3. Copy the following command and Paste it into the Powershell window, and press Enter to install Windows Store again.
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}
